Laurelin's gardenApril 19 Efteling tripOkay, so last week was my birthday and to celebrate it I decided to go on a little trip. But where to go? It didn't take me long to go for a theme park and my choice fell on the Efteling, a fairy tale inspired theme park that I hadn't visited in years and it had a new ride called the flying dutchman, I guess even here the pirates movies have their impact. So the choice was made, at first I was going alone, then my sis wanted to come along but she canceled on me the day before and just when I thought I was going alone again Tine, one of my friends called and offered to come along.
We left at 8am cause the Efteling is in the Netherlands and it is a 2hours drive and the park opened at 10am. A quick stop at the bakery for some snacks and we were on our way. It turned out my friend didn't know it was my birthday, bad Tine, bad lol. The drive went smooth and we arrived at the park at 10.07, NICE. Our first stop was at the Fairy tale forest, enjoying the nice looking buildings and commenting on the various scenes we saw, like how ugly the witch was, how frightening the mirror scene with snowwhite (a little girl clutched her daddy and hid behind him hehe) but one has to remember the park was build in 1952 so it's pretty old, in fact this year it was the 50th anniversary of the flying fakir, they had a addicting song for it.
after the forest we went for the more daring rides, like Fata Morgana, a boat ride that takes you to the world of 1001 nights, youtubers can easily find a video or two on it. We also went into the haunting castle, spooky but fun, again available on youtube, as is the new ride the flying dutchman or vliegende hollander as it's called in dutch.
It was the first of three rollercoaster rides we took and it was a blast. the good thing was that it was a nice calm day so the waiting lines took us only a few minutes for each ride. In the summer it can take up to 45 mins or even over an hour sometimes, not that great.
The music in the park is magnificent and very addicting, I love it hehe. it was a fun day and I'll be going there again and again and again, yes siree
Thanks Tine for joining me!!
I had taken my camera along but the thing went disfunctional after two pictures so the efteling pictures you can find here are not mine but taken from other people, sorry for that haha
